About the Author
Jennifer McGurk, RDN, CDN, CDE, CEDRD is the founder of Eat With Knowledge, located in Nyack, New York. She has several years of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and is a counselor for medical nutrition therapy. Jennifer specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and emotional eating. Her passion is to help people find peace and balance with food choices. Jennifer completed her undergraduate training at Penn State University, majoring in Nutritional Sciences. She then went on to complete her dietetic internship at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. She received her Certified Diabetes Educator credential in 2009 and her Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian credential in 2014. Pursuing Private Practice: 10 Steps to Start Your Own Business is her first book. She is also the author of Pursuing Private Practice: 10 Steps to Grow Your Own Business. She is currently working on other books to help healthcare professionals grow and mature in their own businesses. Get Ahead of the Pack!

If you're anything like me and prefer the movie trailer to the movie and the book review to the book, then Pursuing Private Practice is the guide for you. No boring character development or fluffy filler scenes - this book goes right to the point and leaves you with no excuses. There are other fantastic books, and you should read them, too, but get this first, get started, and get ahead of the pack!

Jennifer McGuirk's excellent step-by-step book does all that work for you

Twenty five years ago, I started my private practice out of compassion, creativity and a desire to help others. Those things I knew, but what I didn't know was how to run my own business. My business approach was mostly trial and error. I made mistakes along the way and put a lot of time and energy into figuring it all out. Jennifer McGuirk's excellent step-by-step book does all that work for you. It's clear, simple and motivating. If you're starting a new private practice or have been in practice for awhile, this book answers all of your questions even the ones you didn't know you had. I strongly recommend this book to all mental health practitioners in private practice. It's a gem!

A must-read for all nutrition professionals!!

Wow. I just finished this book and am amazed at how well Jennifer has broken down the challenging complexities of starting a private practice. This resource guide contains the nuts and bolts of how to launch your business, from business formation, setting goals, finding your first clients, and more. I guarantee this will be your go-to-book whether you are a dietitian, counselor, therapist, or other health professional. I truly love how simple and easy to follow this book is.
